Marilyn Ellen Aspleaf, 75, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 1, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 31, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Marilyn was born Oct. 25, 1939, in Ryan, Iowa, to parents Gerald and Rosalyn (Hughes) Harrington. Marilyn married Larry Aspleaf on July 3, 1971, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. She graduated from Mount Mercy with a bachelor's degree, then began teaching high school. She was involved in church as well as AA.
She is survived by her husband, Larry; her sons, Daniel and James (Kelley Gilbert); sisters-in-law, Carol and Nancy Harrington; grandchild, Daphinie Lowe; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Robert and Jerry Harrington.
