Frasher, Amy Willa
Amy Willa Frasher, 87, of Anamosa, died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, in her home, surrounded by her family. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Anamosa. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. A Scripture service will start the visitation at 3 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Anamosa.
Surviving are her children, John (Marlene) Frasher of Anamosa and Mary Frasher of Anamosa; grandchildren, Jerry (Kristy) Frasher of Anamosa and Pam (Bill) Gates of Arizona; four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jessica, Emily and Corynn; stepgrandchildren, Kathy (Craig) Bartmess and Jeremy Erie; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Dakota, Logan, Layla and Huck.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom; two sisters, Alice and Mary; two brothers, Noel and Marion; and a daughter-in-law, Diane.
Amy Willa Frasher was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Springville, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Francis Fisher Jamison. She was a 1942 graduate of Morley High School. On Jan. 22, 1944, Amy and Thomas Frasher were united in marriage at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Anamosa. Early in life, Amy worked for the Reliant Shirt factory and Collins Radio in Anamosa.
Amy was proud to spend much of her life as a homemaker who loved to cook, bake, sew and make quilts. She was a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church in Anamosa, a member of the hospital auxiliary, art club and Century Club.
Amy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was always caring for her family, friends, fellow parishioners and the community.
She will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
