Rockwell Collins gets Wall Street Journal accolade
Rockwell Collins was named a first runner-up in the transport category in the 2011 Wall Street Journal Technology Innovation Awards at a recent ceremony in Redwood City, Calif.
The Cedar Rapids-based company was recognized for synthetic vision on a head-up display, which enhances pilots' situational and operational awareness through all phases of flight, especially in low-visibility conditions and unfamiliar territory. Rockwell Collins' head-up display with synthetic vision will enter into service early next year on the Bombardier Global 6000 aircraft.
