Enid Weers, 90, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Pinicon Place, Anamosa, following a brief illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at First Congregational Church, Anamosa, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. Pastor Greg Griffin will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa.

Surviving are three sons, Gary (Joanne), Anamosa, Stuart (Belva), Boone, and Jerry John (Sara), Houston, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Julie Weers, Anamosa; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a brother, Don Gilmore, Monticello; and a sister, Lucille Kula, Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 69 years, Vernon; a son, Dennis; two brothers, Floyd and Dale; and a sister, Neva Fox.
Enid Jeanette Gilmore was born July 25, 1925, in Olin, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph and Alma DeVoe Gilmore. She received her early education in the Olin Schools. Enid graduated from Anamosa Community Schools in 1944. She worked at Reliance Shirt Factory and Anamosa Produce. Enid Gilmore married Vernon Weers on March 22, 1945, at First Congregational Church, Anamosa. The couple farmed until 1987. Vernon preceded her in death on April 19, 2014.
Enid was a member of First Congregational Church and had belonged to Circle J Square Dance Club.
