Donna Siebels, 82, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Silvercrest of Anamosa. Funeral services will be 10:30 Friday morning, April 4, at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, rural Monticello, with interment in Wayne Zion Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa.

Surviving are two children, Rebecca (William) Springer, Marion, and Jeff (Sonia Wendel), Anamosa; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Quince (Sarah) Springer and Curt and Cori Siebels; a sister-in-law, Margaret Ann Siebels; and a brother-in-law, Bob Schwartz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maynard in 2006; three sisters, Wilma Hines, Greta Peet and Betty Schwartz; and two brothers, Harold and Robert Thompson.
Donna Mae Thompson was born Nov. 25, 1931, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Quincy and Frances Cech Thompson. She graduated from Anamosa Community Schools in 1951. Donna was employed at Collins Radio and Turner Microphone in Anamosa. On March 14, 1952, she was united in marriage with Maynard Siebels at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. The couple farmed east of Anamosa in Wayne Township.
Donna was a member of Wayne Zion Lutheran Church. She was baptized at the Methodist Church in Anamosa and confirmed her faith on May 25, 1958, at St. Paul Lutheran Church. She also belonged to the Domestic Engineers group. She was a great cook and loved to paint and be artistic in her spare time.
