Taylor, Iola Elva
Iola Elva Taylor, 93, of Anamosa, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at the Anamosa Care Center. Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Pastor Ron Thatcher will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Anamosa.
She is survived by two sons, Keith (Roberta) of Albuquerque, N.M., and Richard (Linda) of Belfair, Wash.; two daughters, Virginia Collins of Austin, Ky., and Donna (Ernest) Farris of Anamosa; a sister, Carol Terrell of Eddyville, Ky.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; two grandchildren, Antonette and Patrick; three brothers, Donald, Chester and Russell Ellison; and four sisters, Nelda Ellison, Theola Pazour, Frances Siemer and Isabelle Loftis.
Iola was born Sept. 29, 1918, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Chester and Elva Sams Ellison. Iola and Marvin Taylor were united in marriage Oct. 15, 1934, in Anamosa. Iola was employed by the Nook, Ruby's and Quality Cafe in Anamosa. She was a member of the Anamosa First Baptist Church for more than 50 years.
Iola was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
