Edwards, Lee Richard
Lee Richard Edwards, 78, of Anamosa, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Silvercrest of Anamosa Care Center. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, rural Monticello. Pastor Ellery Dykeman will officiate at the service. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Monticello.
Surviving are his wife, Sally of Anamosa; two children, Michelle (Dennis) Frazier of Anamosa and Kent (Lori) Edwards of Anamosa; five grandchildren, Aubrey and Austin Edwards, Sawyer, Mitchell and Spencer Frazier; a sister, Sharlene (Ernie) Ulferts of Anamosa; a brother, Dean (Celena) Edwards of Anamosa; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Lee was born Oct. 16, 1934, in Anamosa, Iowa, the son of Howard and Lorene (Starry) Edwards. He was a 1953 graduate of Anamosa High School. Lee served his country in the United States Army. On June 4, 1961, Lee and Sally Catlett were united in marriage. Lee spent more than 50 years farming in Jones County.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed dearly by those closest to him.
