Morgan, Lyle Frederick
Lyle Frederick Morgan, 85, of Janesville, Wisc. passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 30, 2010.
Lyle was born on August 24, 1924 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Edward and Annetta (Kassing) Morgan. He married Joyce Clifton on June 4, 1949 in Spencer, Iowa. They moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1957. Lyle was employed by Penick & Ford in Cedar Rapids until 1977 when he and his wife moved to Janesville where they owned and operated Donuttime (Donut Land) until February of 1997. Lyle was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan. To many younger extended family members and close friends, he was known as Grandpa Lyle.
Surviving are his daughter, Marie (David) Sagen of Janesville; special friends, Terry (Sandy) Hughes, Tim (Lisa) Hughes, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Tom (Andrea) Hughes of St. Charles, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. Lyle was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce on October 9, 1993. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Dennis and Patrick; his parents; a sister, Marie; and five brothers, Jack, Ray, Kenny, Herb and Robert.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Henke-Clarson Funeral Home, 1010 N. Wright Rd., Janesville. Private burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Janesville. Assisting the family is Henke-Clarson Funeral Home (608-741-1713).
