Events marking the first anniversary of 2008 flooding raised more than $74,000 for Cedar Rapids' continuing recovery efforts, organizers announced Wednesday.
Most of the proceeds came from events affiliated with June 13's RIVERenaissance, including the Floodstock concert at Greene Square Park and Run the Flood organized by Cedar Rapids Downtown District.
Officials from Downtown District presented a check to the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation's Flood 2008 Fund Wednesday morning.
Downtown District organizers also recognized Van Meter Industrial for its $10,000 donation.
A complete list of flood recovery programs benefitting from the Flood 2008 Fund is available at the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation's web site, www.gcrcf.org
