IHSAA releases Class 3A, 4A postseason pods

CEDAR RAPIDS — The Iowa High School Athletic Association released postseason pods for Class 3A and 4A Friday.

In 4A, Substate 3 includes Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Cedar Rapids Prairie and Cedar Falls. Substate 4 includes Western Dubuque, Cedar Rapids Jefferson and Cedar Rapids Washington.

Iowa City West, Iowa City High and Linn-Mar are a part of Substate 5.

Class 3A highlights include defending state champion Cedar Rapids Xavier being part of Substate 4, with Mount Vernon, Solon, Maquoketa and West Liberty. Marion is in Substate 5, with Benton Community, Clear Creek-Amana, Center Point-Urbana, South Tama, Vinton-Shellsburg, Williamsburg and West Delaware.

Coaches will determine seeds — and thus pairings — during seeding meetings in February.
