Hughes, Marvin K.
Marvin K. Hughes, 79, of Anamosa, died Thursday, July 30, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa where friends may register after 10 a.m. Rev. Laurie Riley will officiate at the services. Interment: Wilcox Cemetery.

Surviving is his wife, Phyllis; six children, Connie (Don) Thomas of New Jersey, Keith (Patti Jo) Hughes, Mount Carroll, Ill., Ann (Patrick) Marsh of Shelbyville, Ill., Debbie (Pete) Barker, Dawn Barkman and Patricia Lopez, all of Tuscon, Ariz.; three stepchildren, Connie (Carroll) Humpal, Jack (Marlene) Siebels, both of Anamosa, and Terri (Harley) Watkinson of Keystone; 55 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Norma Thomas of Anamosa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Marvina Baker; a great-grandson, Devin; two sisters; and a brother.
Marvin was a meat cutter at the Jess Conrad Grocery, and later at Westphal Super Valu in Anamosa and Pats Grocery in Hopkinton and Central City.
