Hughes, Margie V. 'Maw'
Margie V. “Maw” Hughes, 87, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Oelwein, died Friday morning, Sept. 23, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A celebration of Margie's life will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the conference hall of the AmericInn in Cedar Rapids. Inurnment will be at a later date at the IOOF Cemetery at Georgetown, Texas.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.

Margie Viola Robinson was born Aug. 6, 1924, at Leander, Texas, the daughter of Jessie Clinton and Annie Elizabeth (White) Robinson. She married Robert Bethel Hughes on Dec. 25, 1939, at Round Rock, Texas. Margie lived in Georgetown, Texas, for 40 years before moving to Oelwein, Iowa, in 1989. She moved to the Marion and Cedar Rapids area in 2003. Margie was a homemaker and was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Georgetown, Texas.
Margie is survived by her daughter, Ann Page of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert B. Hughes on April 6, 2005; and a sister, Gladys Helms.
