Schau, Sandra Kay
Sandra Kay Schau, 49, of Goose Lake, died Saturday morning, Dec. 24, 2011, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Sandy was born Sandra Kay Jones, April 12, 1962 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to James R. and Darlene (Munson) Jones. She was a 1980 graduate of Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids. She married Don Droste in 1987. Sandy was employed by Alcoa Mill Products for the past 14 years. She married Todd Schau Sept. 26, 1998 and they resided at rural Goose Lake.
Sandy loved her children dearly as well as horses, dogs and camping.
Surviving are her husband, Todd; children, Shane (Jessica Kelso) Droste of Des Moines, Travis (Jill Vonderhaar) Droste of Cedar Falls, Steven Droste of Emmetsburg, and Regina Droste and Kyla Schau at home; a grandson, Caden Droste; her mother and stepfather, Darlene and Carl Tutor of Davenport; siblings, Rebecca (Leo) Kutcher of Murray, Lawrence (Linda) Jones of Haslet, Texas, Kathleen (Gary) Pechota of Cedar Rapids, and Julie (Bill) Tack of DeWitt; in-laws, Larry and Marilyn Schau of Grand Mound; and nieces and nephews.
Preceding Sandy in death was her father and grandparents.
The family will receive friends at Schultz Funeral of DeWitt from 3 to 7 p.m. today. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, in the funeral home. The Rev. Sarah E. Kretzmann will officiate. Burial will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jesse and Joey Tack, Nicholas Ohlhauser, Bevin Benhart, Andre Harapot and Jesse Giannetto.
