Nancy Jean Hughes, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at Cottage Grove Place. Graveside services are set for 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Nancy was born Feb. 9, 1928, in St. Croix Falls, Wis., the daughter of David and Jean (Larson) Johnson. She married William G. Hughes on July 15, 1950. Nancy was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids. She also was a member of the Junior League, Cedar Rapids Garden Club and P.E.O. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, William G. Hughes; her son, Dr. Steve (Priscilla) Hughes of Ocala, Fla.; her daughter, Cathy Hughes of Waterloo, Iowa; her brother, Dr. Donald (JoAnn) Johnson of Fridley, Minn.; and her grandchildren, Dr. Katie (Dr. Juan) Bastidas and Taylor "TJ" Hughes. She was preceded in death by her parents.
