Lucille Lillian Soukup Zamastil, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, July 25, 2014, at Northbrook Manor Care, Cedar Rapids. Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, conducted by the Rev. Kirk Statler. Family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until service time. Burial: Czech National Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Katherine (Robert) Anderson, Patricia (Richard) Jones, James (Joanne) Zamastil, Laura (James) McLaughlin, John (Beverly) Zamastil, Joseph (Dawn) Zamastil and Julie (Richard) Nemec; grandchildren, Matthew, Adam, Jeffrey, Andrew, Brett, Michael, Christopher, Heather and Tara; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, James Zamastil.
Lucille was born March 6, 1924, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, daughter of William and Lucy (Hill) Soukup. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1942. On Dec. 24, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, she married James Zamastil; he later died on March 7, 1994.
Lucille was a member of Hillside Wesleyan Church, Eagles Fraternal Order Auxiliary No. 2272 and Women of Moose Chapter 515. She was an active member of the Bluebirds, Camp Fire, Cubs and Boy Scouts. She enjoyed helping youth groups, Cub Scouts, playing solitaire and word search puzzles and embroidering. Lucille also was a member of numerous bowling leagues in Cedar Rapids.
