Aretz, Daryl Anthony

Daryl Anthony Aretz, 36, of Davenport, Iowa, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, in Davenport. Per his request, cremation rites were accorded. There will be no visitation or services.

Daryl was born May 1, 1975, in Shakopee, Minn., the son of Herbert and Jeanette (Schweim) Aretz. He enjoyed music, poetry, origami, reading and games, but, his greatest joy was exploring nature with his son, Dassel, the light of his life.

Those left to honor his memory include his son, Dassel, Chaska, Minn.; his parents, Herb and Jeanette, Davenport; brother, Dennis (Genise) Aretz, Belle Plaine, Minn.; sister, Dena (Phil) Burian, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; paternal grandfather, Lester Otto, Belle Plaine, Minn.; maternal grandmother, Verda Schweim, Chaska, Minn.; nieces and nephews, Stacey, Micayla, Morgan, Jensen, Madeline and Kaden; and a great-niece, Olivia.

His paternal grandmother, Rosella Otto, and maternal grandfather, Raymond Schweim, preceded him in death.

Daryl brought love and joy into many lives and will be greatly missed!
