Janeen Marie Leppert, 45, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed, with her daughter and grandchildren by her side. Services in cele-bration of her life will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Legacy Baptist Church, 4823 Jersey Ridge Rd., Davenport. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Janeen was born in 1969 in Little Falls, Minn., to Gene and JoAnne Leppert. She graduated with honors from Quint City Baptist School, Davenport, where she was on the cheer-leading squad, and was proud to have played on the State Champion Basketball team. She married James DeWispelaere in January 1989. They had two children, Adrian and Michael. They were divorced in 2012.
She later met a wonderful man, Will Forester, and spent her remaining days with him and family. She and Will enjoyed fishing and going on cruises. A special appreciation is given to Will for his love, strength and caring that he gave her in her fight against cancer.
Janeen loved being outside and operating her landscaping business. She was an avid Duke fan.
Survivors include her father, Gene Leppert (wife Nancy) of Bettendorf; half brothers, Roger (wife Lindsay) of Omaha, Neb., and Andrew Leppert of Bettendorf; daughter, Adrian DeWispelaere-Lemus (husband Jorge) of Long Grove; son, Michael DeWispelaere of Davenport; grandchildren, Luis, Isabella and Jorge Jr.; two nephews; an uncle and aunt; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, JoAnne Sundell; half brother, Jeremy; half sister, Janelle; paternal grandparents, Maynard and Mae Leppert; and maternal grandparents, Fritz and Wava Shorter.
