Kernels see 4-game win streak snapped at Burlington

BURLINGTON - A three-run second inning was all the Burlington Bees needed offensively to topple the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 4-1, Friday night in Midwest League baseball.
Burlington knocked Kernels starting pitcher Jared Wilson (5-3) out of the game by mixing a pair of hits with four walks. Wilson walked Trevor Gretzky and Nick Flair with the bases loaded, with a third run scoring on a fielder's choice grounder.
Cedar Rapids (46-33, 5-4 second half) managed only five hits, including a Nick Gordon RBI single in the third inning. Justin Anderson (5-6) started for Burlington and went the first five innings for the win.
Eduardo Paredes pitching a scoreless ninth for his 11th save. The teams play again Saturday evening at 5:05 at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids.
