Neumann, Denise Marie (Jones)
Denise Marie (Jones) Neumann, 52, of Marion, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, following a courageous battle with cancer. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at Faith Lutheran Church, Marion, by the Rev. Linda Livingston. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff Neumann; her father and stepmother, Robert and Barbara Jones of Marion; a son, Andrew Jones of Marion; three stepchildren, Tyler, Joshua and Ryan Neumann, all of Marion; a grandson, Dylan; mother-in-law, Bonnie Swanson of Davenport; father-in-law, James (Ruthann) Neumann of Davenport; sisters, Leigh (John) Tigan of Marion, Stephanie (Scott) Thomson of Cresco and Bobbie (Chuck) Lampe of Cedar Rapids; stepsister, Jenny (Stephen) Kwan of Austin, Texas; stepbrother, Mark Griffith of Washington, D.C.; sister-in-law, Wendy (Matt) Stolley of Walcott; a special aunt, Sheila (James) Seigel of Marion; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeannine Jones; and grandparents, Minor and Donna Jones and James and Grace Murray.
Denise was born July 25, 1957, the daughter of Robert and Jeannine (Murray) Jones, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She married Jeff Neumann on Oct. 12, 2007, at Ascension Lutheran Church in Marion. Denise worked for 35 years at Osco Pharmacy, now CVS, as a supervisor. She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Marion.
Denise loved spending time with family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, sister and daughter. In her free time, she loved decorating her home and the homes of others. Denise also enjoyed flowers and gardening.
