Seitz, Mildred Elizabeth
Mildred Elizabeth Seitz, 93, passed away Friday, April 16, 2010, at Anamosa Care Center, Anamosa. Services will be Monday, April 19, at 11:30 a.m. at The Runge Mortuary, Davenport. The family will greet friends today from 3 to 6 p.m. at the mortuary and Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.
Mildred, a former resident of Davenport and Bettendorf, was born Feb. 1, 1917, in Blue Grass, Iowa, the daughter of Walter C. and Hilda (Petersen) Kautz. On Sept. 30, 1939, she was united in marriage to Marion W. Seitz at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Davenport. He preceded her in death in 1994. She worked as a beautician before her marriage, and then lived her life as a devoted wife and mother, her greatest joy in life.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Genesis West Auxiliary, Ladies of the Moose, Putnam Museum Guild, Leidertaufal, Northwest Turners Auxiliary and the Davenport Women's Bowling Association. She loved playing cards, watching sports and doing craft work.
Those left to honor her memory include her son, Barry (Vicky) Seitz, Grand Junction, Colo.; daughter, Debra (Craig) Plaster, Marion; grandchildren, Scott, Tadd, Jennifer, Chad and Nick, stepgrandson, Brian; 12 great-grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Leota Pohlmann.
Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport or the Anamosa Care Center, Resident Activities, 1209 E. Third St., Anamosa.
