Morris, Marjorie Lee
Marjorie Lee Morris, 80, of Tipton, formerly of West Liberty, was called to her heavenly home to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 15, 2013, in her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 20, at the United Methodist Church in Tipton, with the Rev. DeLane Wright officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery, Stockport. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton.
Marjorie and her twin sister entered this life on Feb. 28, 1933, in Davenport, Iowa, daughters of James Lawson and Pearl Elsie Hodges Bryan. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1953 and was united in marriage to James Lester Morris in an evening ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 5, 1961, in the Wayside Chapel of St. John's Methodist Church, Davenport.
Marjorie was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She belonged to the United Methodist Woman's Club and the Tipton Woman's Club.
Those who will mourn her passing are her husband, James “Jim” of Tipton; daughters, Cathleen Morris-Wyatt and husband Christopher of Ponca City, Okla., Cheryl Stark of Tipton and Christine Durst and husband Jeff of Davenport; grandchildren, Megan Morris-Wyatt, Raymond Stark, Brandon Stark, Carter Morris-Wyatt and Michael Durst; sisters, Pat Arp and husband Dennis Oetzmann of Dixon, Karen Bryan of Davenport and Connie Harris and husband Ralph of Davenport; and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her twin sister, Georgia Lou Bryan.
