Lee, JoAnn 'Jokie' D.
CEDAR RAPIDS - JoAnn “Jokie” D. Lee, 73, of 3110 Wilson Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, went to live with our Lord, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010. Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Randy Scheil.
Survivors include her children, Tim Carter, Susan (Michael) Miniaci, Jim (Bonnie) Carter and Mike (Julie) Lee; grandchildren, Rebecca, Ryan, Michael, Cecily, Matthew, Justin, Danielle and Michaela; siblings, Jim Smith, Lona Lansville, Bonnie Parsley and Molly Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents.
Born Aug. 5, 1937, in Luton, Iowa, JoAnn was the daughter of George and Helen (Courtney) Smith. She worked for 16 years for the Cedar Rapids School District and previous to that operated Jokies UR Special Daycare in Galena, Ill.
Jokie will always be remembered by her family and friends for having a real zest for life. She touched all who she knew with her smile and wonderful sense of humor. She is gone, but her spirit will remain in our hearts forever. She touched countless individuals and lived her life with the three Ls; Live, Laugh, and Love.
