Lamp, Marilyn
Marilyn Lamp, 78, of Sheffield, passed away at her home on Nov. 8, 2010. Private family services will be held at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport.
Marilyn Jean Lamp was born Dec. 18, 1931, in Davenport, Iowa, a daughter of Harvey and Hilda (Cook) Lamp. She grew up in Bennett and graduated from the Tipton High School. Marilyn then attended Cornell College and the University of Iowa, where she graduated with a nursing degree. She then earned an advanced degree from Marycrest College in Davenport and worked as a surgical nurse at Mercy Hospital in Davenport. She also worked for many years as a school nurse in the Davenport school system. After retiring Marilyn moved to Sheffield to her parents' former home.
She is survived by her sister, Jan (Bob) Arduser of Monticello; niece, Lori (Ignacio) Mendieta, and their children, Rob, Mitch, Morgan and Dylan; niece, Kari Paulsen and Tom Paulsen and children, Jeremy (Kara), Jason and Jade; niece, Kris Kromminga and children, Sara, Kaci and Taryn.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; and Rich Kromminga, husband of her niece, Kris Kromminga.
Memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous of Iowa at Monticello or to other organizations in her memory.
