DeLay, Eunice M.
Eunice M. DeLay, 87, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Davenport, died Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at The Runge Mortuary in Davenport. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Berean Baptist Church in Davenport or Harvest Baptist Church in Williamsburg.
Eunice was born June 30, 1922, in Stockton, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Martha (Martens) Paulsen. She was a former member of Berean Baptist Church and a current member of Harvest Baptist Church in Williamsburg. She served as president of the Resident's Council at Heritage Nursing Home in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed needlework and reading. She worked as an LPN for 15 years at Ridgecrest and the Good Samaritan Home in Davenport and also as a private duty nurse.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Vincil (Aurora), Coralville, Albert (Grace), Harrisburg, Pa., Don (Marsha), Newhall, and David (Suzette), Davenport; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Imogene Waterman, Paradise, Calif.
Her parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
