KIAWAH ISLAND, SC - Well, it wasn't a beautiful scoring day for players at Kiawah Island's Ocean Course, but Zach Johnson kept pace with the leaders, as the Cedar Rapids native shot a 1-over-par 73 to finish play Friday at 1-over.
Johnson was six back at the start of play Friday, but with the leaders dropping back, too, Johnson is only five back going into the weekend.
Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, and Carl Pettersson finished the day 4-under-par. Rory McIlroy is 2-under, Phil Mickelson is even and defending champion Keegan Bradley is 1-over after a 77. The cut is plus-4.
Johnson is tied for 15th place.
Johnson littered the scorecard with birdies and bogeys for the second straight day. He made three birdies and four bogeys in Friday's round after recording four of each on Thursday.
