Russell "Rusty" Clark, 57, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016, in the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. There will be a celebration of life held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Rumors, 400 F Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids. Iowa Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Clark; his daughter, Lisa (Dustin) Salter of Hiawatha; his father, Harold Clark of Cedar Rapids; his brother, Rick Clark of Iowa City; and his grandchildren, Noah and Makinzie Salter, both of Hiawatha.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dena Clark.
Rusty was born Aug. 5, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Harold and Dena Clark. He married Julie Burns on Dec. 18, 2004. Rusty worked for the Cedar Rapids school system for 30 years and retired in 2014. His favorite place to be was his garage where he would work on his truck and many other projects. He loved mud racing, spending time with his many friends and family and especially his beloved cat Prissy. He was extremely talented and skilled at everything he did, was a great mechanic and had the ability to fix just about anything.
He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and willingness to help anyone in need. His storytelling and sense of humor will be greatly missed. Rusty was truly an original human being and his personality added joy and laughter to the lives of his family and friends.
