Clark D. Larsen, 87, of Grimes, formerly of Marion, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 29, at American Legion Post 298, Marion. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, May 12, in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter.
Clark is survived by his children, Richard (Angela) Larsen, Lisa (Mark) Cracraft, Sheila Hepker and Terri Larsen; grandchildren, Tyler, Ashton and Sydney Cracraft and Matthew Hepker; and brother, Dwight Larsen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Mary Jane.
Clark was born Feb. 19, 1930, in Jamestown, N.D., the son of Donald and Ardell (Smiley) Larsen. On June 15, 1954, in Rapid City, S.D., he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Matthew. Mary Jane passed away July 14, 2010. Clark was honored to serve his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force as a machinist, retiring after 20 years. During his years of service he saw it as a great opportunity to travel the world with his family. Clark was a member of American Legion Post 298 in Marion.
