Zach Johnson Foundation Classic adds three more PGA Tour event-winners to July 30 field

Jun. 1, 2012 2:21 pm
The second annual Zach Johnson Foundation Classic already has a foundation of world-class players.
Added to the field of the July 30 event at Cedar Rapids' Elmcrest Country Club were Stewart Cink, Ben Crane and Johnson Wagner. Kyle Stanley was confirmed earlier this year.
"Hopefully, I can grab a couple more," Johnson said Friday.
Like host Johnson, Stanley and Wagner have won PGA Tour events this year. Crane won Tour events in 2010 and 2011, and Cink is the 2009 British Open champion.
Combined, the five players have 22 Tour victories, led by Johnson's eight. He got No. 8 last Sunday at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial.
The ZJFC benefits Kids on Course, a pilot program at Van Buren Elementary and Harrison Elementary Schools. The mission is to empower students by nurturing their interests and providing opportunities to foster in them the confidence to realize their academic and individual potential. Last year's Classic raised over $1 million for the cause.
Tickets to the Classic are $20, and $10 for age 12 and under. They can be ordered at zachjohnsongolf.com.
