JEAN L. (CLAPP) URBANEK
Cedar Rapids
Jean L. (Clapp) Urbanek passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, in Papillion, Neb., after a long illness.
She was born on Feb. 9, 1928, near Grundy Center, Iowa, to James and Ella Clapp. Jean lived in Iowa, Colorado and most recently in Nebraska. She worked many years at Collins Radio Co. in Cedar Rapids.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; two sisters, Bernice Anthes and Shirley McFarland; and her granddaughter, Kylee Stiegelmeier.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Kenn) Pettit of Cedar Rapids, Susan Gilman of Aurora, Colo., Deb (Dan) Smith of Springville, Linda (Rich) Naylor of Papillion, Neb., and Nancy (Stan) Hill of Evergreen, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Jean loved her family, camping in the Rocky Mountains and spending time with friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A private family memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 13, in Nebraska.
Memorials may be given in Jean's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
