Kolin Schulte and Daniel Hussman hooked up twice for touchdowns and Trevor Wehling rushed for 113 yards and two scores as Anamosa won its seventh straight last night, nipping Union, 31-28, in a non-district high school football game in Anamosa.
The seven-game winning streak is the longest in Anamosa school history in more than 50 years.
Schulte connected with Hussman on a 75-yard touchdown on the first play of the game, which was tied 7-7 at the end of the first quarter and 14-14 at halftime. The two hooked up again at the start of third, covering 43 yards, but it was Wehling's 77-yard TD run at the end of the quarter that put the Raiders up for good.
Schulte, who completed 4 of 11 for 151 yards, also intercepted a pass, as did Kyle Sayre and Tyler Zumbach, giving Anamosa a state-best 21 picks this season.

INDEPENDENCE 10, WEST DELAWARE 0
— Nicholas Holt picked snatched a loose ball in the air and returned it 60 yards to lift the Mustangs (5-3, 4-2) handed the Hawks their first loss of the season.
West Delaware, playing without Coy Roussell for the second week in a row, held Independence to 111 yards, but couldn't put points on the board.
Mark Thompson scored the Mustangs' other points on a 27-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

WEST BRANCH 56, WILTON 0
— Luke Lenoch rushed for 203 yards and four touchdowns and Devin Kindon rushed for three scores as the Bears clinched the Class 1A District 5 title with a win at Wilton.
The Bears limited Wilton is minus-39 yards rushing and minus-16 yards total offense, both West Branch school records.
Matt Schawver. on the opening play of the game, intercepted a Wilton pass and returned it 29 yards for a TD.

MONTICELLO 10, TIPTON 0
— Monticello snapped a three-game losing streak and in doing so took control of its playoff fate after a victory at Tipton.
The Panthers improved to 3-5 overall and, more importantly, 2-3 in Class 2A District 4. The win gave the Panthers the potential tiebreaker over Tipton (4-4, 2-3) heading to the final week of the season.
After a scoreless first quarter, Monticello scored all 10 of its points in the second quarter on a 3-yard touchdown run by Garrett Rieniets and a 26-yard field goal by Peyton Paddock.
David Gray passed for 56 yards, completing 6 of 18 passes.
Monticello had more than 100 yards rushing for the first time this season.
Monticello's defense held district 4 leading rusher Adam Hermsen to just 32 yards on 13 carries.

NORTH CEDAR 41, WAPELLO 6
— Jayden Johnson completed 15 of 18 passes for 221 yards and five touchdowns as the Knights beat the Indians in Wapello.
Ian Malaby had 10 receptions for 171 yards and five touchdowns. Spencer Armstrong had 13 carries for 100 yards and a touchdown.
NORTH-LINN 20, EAST BUCHANAN 18
— The Lynx scored a touchdown with just under a minute to go in the game to pull away from the Buccaneers in Troy Mills.
North-Linn quarterback Logan Novak completed 24 of 40 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns. Ben Wolff caught 10 passes, including two for touchdowns. Wolff also had a 38-yard interception return for a touchdown for the Lynx.
WILLIAMSBURG 35, CENTRAL LEE 17
— Mitchell Stahl rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns as the Raiders won at home. Jackson Subbert had a touchdown reception and Alyn Francis recorded a touchdown for Williamsburg.
SPRINGVILLE 40, WEST CENTRAL 12
— Tyler McDowell rushed for 226 yards and four touchdowns and added a 26-yard TD pass to Greg Pauly as the Orioles won at home.
Cody Blake added 93 yards and a TD on 17 rushes as Springville improved to 3-5.
The Orioles held West Central to 27 rushing yards and 225 total yards.
ELKADER CENTRAL 74, LANSING KEE 26
— Aaron Hoth rushed for 66 yards and five touchdowns as the Warriors rolled in Elkader. Nathan Fitzgerald ran for 170 yards on 21 carries and scored two touchdowns for Elkader Central.
SOUTH WINNESHEIK 66, CLAYTON RIDGE 14
— Logan Schweinfus completed 5 of 8 passes for 140 yards and two TDs and Ryan Hageman rushed for 116 and scored four TDs on just eight rushes as the Warriors won at home.
CASCADE 48, MOUNT VERNON 35
— Derek Lieurance scored five touchdowns as the Class 2A eighth-ranked Cougars beat the Mustangs at home.
Lieurance completed 23 of 28 passes for 332 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns.
Nate Bergfeld caught 11 passes for 137 yards and a touchdown. Luke Recker ran for 95 yards and a touchdown for the Cougars.
CHARLES CITY 33, DECORAH 21
— The Comets totaled 420 yards and held the Vikings to 286 to win at home.
Cole Steffen passed for 135 yards and a touchdown and rushed for another score and Jake Hovden had two TDs for Decorah.
