IOWA CITY - Iowa basketball landed its first recruit for the 2016 class when Dubuque Wahlert sophomore Cordell Pemsl committed on Thursday.
Pemsl, a 6-foot-7 forward, averaged 15.5 points a game for Wahlert last season.
'They put everything put on the table for me and showed me what they could do for me and the support that would be available to me,” Pemsl told Hawkeye Report. 'That was not only with basketball but also academically. They made me feel at home basically. I liked what they offered and thought that I would fit in well with their program.”
Iowa already has received a commitment from Chicago De La Salle junior Brandon Hutton for the 2015 class. Iowa currently has two open scholarships, and Nevada transfer Cole Huff will visit the campus this weekend.
