Connor McCaffery scored 18 points to help the Class 4A top-rated Trojans remain undefeated with a road win over Cedar Rapids Xavier last night, 76-56. Devontae Lane and David DiLeo each scored 16 apiece in the win at Xavier. Mitchell Berger led all scorers with 22 points and Adam McDermott added 17 and led the Saints in steals and also tied for the team lead in rebounds and assists.
LINN-MAR 75, DUBUQUE HEMPSTEAD 47
- Jordan Bohannon led the seventh-ranked Lions with 24 points, nine rebounds and six assists as Linn-Mar rolled No. 8 Hempstead in Dubuque.
Nic Uhlir added 15 points for Linn-Mar (13-3, 10-1 MVC) while Beau Klostermann had 11 and Riley Murphy finished with nine points.
Robert Duax led the Mustangs (13-3, 10-1) offense with 20 points while Bailey Paulsen scored 11 points.
CEDAR FALLS 64, C.R. WASHINGTON 56
- Tra'Von Fagan scored 17 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead Cedar Falls on the road.
Keeon Johnson added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Tigers (10-5, 6-5 MVC).
Laveechie Williams finished with an 11-point, 13-rebound double-double for Washington (8-8, 6-5). Keion Wills chipped in with 12 points for the Warriors.
MARION 63, INDEPENDENCE 41 - Craig Engle scored a game-high 30 points as the Indians won big at Independence. Deshaun Quinn finished the night with eight points while Terrence Williams added six points for Marion (12-5, 8-4 Wamac).
Spencer Pink scored eight points and Jay Wieland had seven points for Independence (2-15, 1-11).
PRINCE OF PEACE 62, CVC 39 - Tom Scroggs led Cedar Valley Christian with 11 points and nine rebounds in a loss at Springville.
Dubuque Wahlert 57, Iowa City High 55
- The Little Hawks almost notched an upset in Iowa City, but No. 3 (3A) Dubuque Wahlert rallied.
Kennedy 73, Waterloo East 63
- The Cougars won on the road last night in Waterloo.
