Jefferson’s Maddie Slagle is MVC Mississippi Division player of the year

Cedar Rapids Jefferson's Maddie Slagle was named the MVC Mississippi Division player of the year when the Mississippi Valley Conference all-division teams were released Tuesday.
A senior bound for the University of Iowa, Slagle has averaged 3.04 kills and 3.72 digs per match. Jefferson (39-6) won the Mississippi Division title, was the MVC tournament runner-up and has advanced to the state tournament for the first time in 20 years.
Amy Norton is the Mississippi Division coach of the year.
Taylor Lynch and Tayah Mahi of Cedar Falls share Valley Division player-of-the-year honors, with Travis Wills of Dubuque Hempstead if the Valley coach of the year.
