WILLIAM R. "BILLY" CUMMINGS

William R. "Billy" Cummings, 44, died Monday, Dec. 24, 2018, of natural causes. A memorial visitation will be held at a later date.
William Robert Cummings was born Feb. 5, 1974, in Vinton, the son of William Craig and Elaine Rhinehart Cummings. He graduated from Vinton-Shellsburg Community Schools and attended Kirkwood Community College, earning an AA degree. Billy worked in the parts department at Rydell Chevrolet in Waterloo. He enjoyed music and playing the guitar, cars, computers and writing in his journal.
He is survived by his grandparents, Bill and Faye Cummings, Vinton; his father, William Craig Cummings, Vinton; brother, Eric Cummings, Marion; half-siblings, Brett Sorrell, Houstonia, Mo., Chris Sorrell, Creighton, Mo., Kelli Cummings, Dubuque and Danielle Cummings, Vinton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine; his stepmother, Lori; his uncle, Doug Cummings; and his sister, Sara Jean Cummings Bunch.
A memorial fund has been established.
