WILLIAM D. "BILL" MAHNKE
Cedar Rapids
William D. "Bill" Mahnke, 63, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Private burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his siblings, Judy (Ray) Pisarik of Ely, Teri (Terry) LeVelle of Cedar Rapids, Rose "Susie" Fisher of Oskaloosa and Betty Lou Karr of Olathe, Kan.; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his dog, Libby.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harold J. Mahnke.
William was born July 12, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Harold F. and Maxine (Anderson) Mahnke. He graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington High School in 1971. William studied land surveying through the Iowa DOT at Iowa State University and later attended Kirkwood Community College. He went to work for the Iowa DOT and later Howard Greene as a land surveyor. He later worked as a project manager for various construction companies in Cedar Rapids and the Quad Cities.
William was an organ donor.
