Cast your fishing poles and reel ‘em in! The Boys & Girls Clubs of Cedar Rapids will soon be stocking tagged fish in Robbins Lake just in time for the 11th Annual Fish-O-Rama, presented by Toyota, Your Eastern Iowa Toyota Dealer. This year's event will take place Saturday, August 3 from 7am to 5pm and Sunday, August 4 from 7am to 1pm at Robbins Lake near the corner of Edgewood Road and Ellis Boulevard in Cedar Rapids. Gates open at 6am both days.
Registration for this two-day event begins July 1 online at www.bgccr.org or at Robbins Lake on Wednesday, July 31 at noon. A basic registration of $10 gives you access to fishing at the lake all weekend and a chance to win some great prizes, or a bonus registration of $25 gives you all of the benefits of the basic registration and makes you eligible for additional, bigger prizes! Some of this year's prizes include bikes, TV's, scooters, and gift cards! In addition, all registrants receive a t-shirt and goodie bag.
Fish-O-Rama is an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to get involved and volunteer in the community! The Boys & Girls Clubs are looking for about 200 volunteers throughout the weekend. Anyone interested in helping at this year's Fish-O-Rama is encouraged to contact Ainsley Hogan at ahogan@bgccr.org.
All proceeds from Fish-O-Rama enable the Boys & Girls Clubs to keep their doors open and be available to the youth of the Cedar Rapids Community.
