WILLIAM WEETS
Anamosa
William Weets, 84, died Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Anamosa Care Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, at First Congregational Church, Anamosa. The Rev. Greg Griffin will of-ficiate at the services. Friends may visit from 9 until 11 a.m. at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been es-tablished.
Surviving are his wife, Jannette; four daughters, Becky (Steven) Dorothy, Anamosa, Cindy Guhl, Iowa City, Julie (Dana Holland) Weets, Morley, and Sheila (Dave) Trumm, Kila, Mont.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold (Delores), Lost Nation; and a sister-in-law, Mary Weets, Mechanicsville.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alan and Darrell; and two sisters, Virginia and Lenora.
William J. Weets was born May 20, 1930, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of William and Alvina Luett Weets. William graduated from the Lost Nation High School in 1948 as valedictorian of his class. William and Jannette Wall were married March 17, 1955, in Cascade, Iowa. The couple farmed near Anamosa. In 1973, William went to work for the Anamosa Community Schools as a janitor. He worked at West Middle School for over 17 years and retired in 1990.
William was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Anamosa.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
