Fern L. Struchen, 92, of Marion, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Graveside service at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Darran Whiting will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Fern is survived by her daughter, Peggy Robison and a son, Wayne (Barb), all of Marion; granddaughters, Pam (Peter) Elliff of Marion, Yvette Clapp of Marion and Tracey Struchen (Mike Hepker) of Vinton; great-grandchildren, Jessie Elliff, Jennie Johnson, Emily Clapp, Taylor Clapp, Garrett Jacobs and Braedon Hepker; nieces, Catherine Palmer, Susan Hansen, Judy Norden and Sharon Kemp, and her special friends, the Mosbecks from Canada.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 70 years, Eugene; her grandson, Mark Wanerus; her great-grandson, Tyler Peterson; four brothers; and one sister, Dorothy.
Fern was born Jan. 30, 1924, to Oliver and Clara (Knapp) Tilton, in Marion. She graduated from Marion High School in 1942.
