RICHARD "SPARKY" PINCH
Central City
Richard "Sparky" Pinch, 91, of Central City, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Funeral service with military honors: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion by the Rev. Vicki Engelmann. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Survivors include his two sons, Rick Pinch of Florida and Larry Pinch of California; brothers, Robert Pinch of Nevada and Roy Pinch of California; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Bernice Boots; and many other friends in Central City.
Richard was born Jan. 8, 1924, to Richard and Mabel (Knapp) Pinch in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Marion High School in 1941 and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served during World War II in the South Pacific, and was discharged in 1947. Richard was a member of American Legion Wapsie Post 421 of Central City.
