Kernels rally late for 5-4 win at Wisconsin

GRAND CHUTE, Wis. - Newcomer LaMonte Wade had a go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning to give the Cedar Rapids Kernels a 5-4 win over Wisconsin on Friday night at Fox Cities Stadium.
The Kernels (75-62, 34-33) scored twice in the inning to claim the rubber game of the three-game series. They host Clinton for three games, beginning Saturday night, to end the Midwest League's regular season.
Edgar Corcino walked leading off the C.R. eight and went to third on a T.J. White double. Max Murphy's groundout scored the tying run, with Wade following with his hit.
John Curtiss (3-3) allowed two runs in one inning of relief work but got the pitching victory. Nick Anderson pitched a scoreless ninth for his third save.
White and Wade had two hits apiece for the Kernels.
