William B. Turner, 58, of Ely, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at his home. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at
Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Friday,
Oct. 19, at the funeral home.
William was born Nov. 17, 1959, in Marengo, Iowa, the son of William O. Jr. and Joyce (Wodstrchill) Turner. He graduated from high school in Williamsburg in 1978 and attended Truman State University and Missouri Institute of Technology. William worked in Texas in the oil fields and Texas Instruments, Kodak in Colorado Springs and currently Pearson in Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed antiques and collecting as well as designing coffee cup logos.
Survivors include his mother and his stepfather, Joyce and Hank Kopf of Cedar Rapids; sisters, Patricia (Stan) Garmer of Springfield, Mo., Deb (Rick) Boland of North Liberty, Laura Coomer of Louisville, Ky., Linda (Derek) Coleman of Lexington, Ky., and Sandra (Scott) Steinfadt of Grundy Center; and many nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his father.
