HUGH OWENS
Homestead
Hugh Edward Owens, 81, of Homestead, entered into eternal rest Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016, at Mercy Iowa City. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy, with the Rev. Gary Sears officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Conroy. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be contributed to Lutheran Interparish School, Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy, or Iowa City Hospice.
Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is in charge of arrangements.
Hugh is survived by his wife, Shirley; his children, Hugh Douglas (Sandy) of Oxford, Julie Harriman of North English, Mike (Trilby) of Homestead and Mark (Jeanne) of Homestead; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Margaret Knapp and Rosemary Pope.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert; and a son-in-law, Terry Harriman.
