Kernels record 19 hits in 12-2 blowout of Beloit
BELOIT, Wis. - The Cedar Rapids Kernels pounded out 19 hits and blasted the Beloit Snappers, 12-3, Monday afternoon at Pohlman Field.
Every position player had at least one hit for the Kernels (28-17). Pat Kelly, Tyler Kuresa and Max Murphy had three each, with Kelly driving in five runs.
Kelly and J.J. Fernandez each homered. Fernandez had four RBIs.
Reliever Michael Theofanopoulos (1-1) threw 2 2/3 innings of scoreless ball to pick up the victory. The Kernels begin a week-long homestand Tuesday night at 6:35 against Wisconsin.
