Oleson, Suzy 'Crazy Lady' Knapp
Suzy “Crazy Lady” Knapp Oleson was born Jan. 20, 1962, in Carroll, Iowa. She passed away after a short, hard battle with Leukemia, surrounded by her family, on June 13, 2013. She lived hard and loved harder.
She was preceded by her brother, Roger Knapp, and sister, Mary Lostis.
She is survived by her mother, Lillian Louise Knapp; her loving husband, Michael Oleson; her children, Toni (Shawn) Benson, Mary Varner, Blake (Megan) Matthes and Jarith (Gretchen) Knapp; her grandchildren, Kenneth Simmons, Conner Matthes, Leo Bly-Knapp, Haley Matthes and Bella Happel-Knapp; her sisters, Charlotte Winchester and Robin Wolters; and brother, John Knapp.
Suzy was a woman who touched everyone she met. You loved her instantly, as she was larger than life. She was famous for her love of people and of food. No one ever went hungry at the Crazy Lady's Café, a mobile cafe. She always went above and beyond to make sure everyone around her was taken care of.
She was one of a kind, an amazing daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, wife and friend. Her journey on this plane was too short and left unfinished, but we will continue the journey when reunited on the next.
Suzy “Crazy Lady's” Celebration of Life will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 17, at Morgan Funeral Choices, Mount Vernon. Suzy's viewing will be today from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Fellowship/wake will continue at the “House” after the viewing and service. She will be cremated after the service and go for a ride with Papa before being shot from cannons with him.
Memorials can be sent via PayPal to crazyladyscafe@gmail.com; sentiments can also be posted via Facebook at “Pray for Sister Sue” open group page.
