Jul. 10, 2013 1:08 pm
CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids Kernels announced Wednesday that outfielder Jeremias Pineda has been activated from the seven-day disabled list and will be available for the team's game Wednesday night at home against Dayton.
Pineda had been shelved with a hamstring injury. The 22-year-old switch-hitter from the Dominican Republic is hitting .173 in 24 games for Cedar Rapids, with a home run, five RBIs and seven stolen bases.
The Kernels now have a full active roster of 25. The team is carrying 13 pitchers, one more than most Midwest League clubs, and 12 position players. They are beginning a six-game homestand against Dayton and Bowling Green that runs through Monday.
