Knapp, Earl M.
Earl M. Knapp, 95, of Marion, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2012. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in Troy Mills. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Maxine Knapp; his son, Keith (Maxine) Knapp of Apache Junction, Ariz.; his stepchildren, James Edward Brink of Anamosa, Eugene (Linda) Brink of Anamosa, Duaine (Kathy) Brink of Rochester, Minn., Pamela (Dewayne) Worthan of Martell and Douglas Arthur Brink of Gooeta, Cali.; his grandchildren, David, Stephen and Susan Aller and Brian Knapp; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are 11 stepgrandchilden, 22 stepgreat-grandchildren and four stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Knapp; his daughter, JoAnn Kay Aller; his twin brother, Merle Knapp; brother, Lewis Knapp; and a grandson, Stephen Aller.
Earl was born Nov. 14, 1916, in Prairieburg, Iowa, the son of Ray and Mary (Kula) Knapp. He married Ruth Willmott on Oct. 26, 1936, in Central City. She died in 2002. He then married Opal Maxine Brink on Oct. 26, 2008. Earl farmed for over 65 years and was a member of First Christian Church in Troy Mills. He enjoyed horse riding and dancing.
Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Hospice in lieu of flowers.
