Kernels' concessions head wins MWL award

Debra Maier, Director of Food and Beverage for the Cedar Rapids Kernels, has been named the 2013 recipient of the Midwest League Woman Executive of the Year.
The award is sponsored by Rawlings and is presented annually to a "woman who has made outstanding contributions to her club, her league or to baseball." Maier is the fifth person from Cedar Rapids to win the award.
Bea Buchheister won it in 1989, Nancy Cram in 1994, Jessica Fergesen in 2007 and Andrea Brommelkamp in 2008. Each league winner is eligible for a national award, which will be presented in December at the Baseball Winter Meetings.
