Nov. 7, 2016 7:45 pm
CEDAR RAPIDS — When you are 13 games into the season and haven't won, yet, you are going to keep making changes.
The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders did so again Monday, trading forward Sam Sternschein to the Lincoln Stars and acquiring forward Bobby Hampton from the Chicago Steel.
The Riders (0-11-2) received a fourth-round draft pick from Lincoln for Sternschein. The 18-year-old Cornell University commit had a goal and two points in 13 games this season.
He was acquired in a trade last season from the Tri-City Storm, picking up five goals and 12 points in 43 games.
Hampton, 18, had two assists in nine games for Chicago. The Northeastern University commit was on the 2015 and 2016 Central Scouting Service's list of NHL Draft-eligible North American skaters.
The RoughRiders play this weekend at Chicago and Muskegon.
