CEDAR RAPIDS — Cody Campbell has left the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders to become an associate head coach and director of scouting for the Odessa Jackalopes of the North American Hockey League.
Campbell was an assistant coach this past season for the Riders and also played in Cedar Rapids. He was a member of Odessa's coaching staff from 2013 to 2015.
'The RoughRiders organization is very happy for Cody,' said RoughRiders Coach/General Manager Mark Carlson, in a release. 'This is a great opportunity for him to be the associate head coach, director of scouting and the opportunity to climb the ladder in the Jackalopes organization. It was great to have Cody back in Ridertown and we wish him all the best.'
'I would like to thank Coach Carlson for the opportunity he gave me to come here and learn from him,' said Campbell. 'I'd also like to thank the rest of the staff and Jan & Tony Sdao. Everyone involved made my time in Cedar Rapids wonderful. The RoughRiders have awarded me opportunities as a player and now as a coach to continue on and climb the ladder in the hockey world.'
The RoughRiders conduct their main tryout camp will be June 1-4 at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.
