BURLINGTON - Someone scored on Randy LeBlanc. But just once.
The Cedar Rapids Kernels starting pitcher saw his scoreless streak end with two outs in the seventh inning, but still picked up a 4-1 win over the Burlington Bees on Tuesday night at Community Field. LeBlanc (6-2) went 34 2/3 innings over four starts between runs allowed.
Ironically, Burlington was the last team to score against him, April 19, also at Community Field. The player responsible for scoring that run, Brendon Sanger, stopped LeBlanc's streak with a two-out RBI hit Tuesday.
LeBlanc's season earned run average is 0.85.
Nelson Molina had an RBI double, Brad Hartong a sacrifice fly and Jermaine Palacios a run-scoring triple in a three-run second inning for the Kernels (26-18). An unearned run in the fourth gave C.R. its final run.
The teams play again Wednesday night at 6:35.
Before Tuesday's game, the Kernels and parent Minnesota Twins announced relief pitcher Nick Anderson has been promoted to high-Class A Fort Myers. The right-hander had an ERA of under 1.00 and had retired the final 20 batters he faced as a Kernel.
Righty reliever Kuo Hua Lo will replace Anderson on the active roster. He has been in Cedar Rapids despite technically be assigned to extended spring training.
